NAVA Design is an Milan based Italian company that collaborates with international designers to create high quality design-led products.
NAVA Design create colourful, high quality products that cater for creative professionals. I took a look at their ‘FLUO’ notepads, ‘No ordinary notes’ range of notebooks and two bags that keep laptops/tablets safe.
FLUO Notepads
The FLUO notepads are extra bright and come in either Blue, Magenta or Orange. The colour extends from the cover to the page edges. They feel like little books thanks to a generous 352 pages. Inside there are a few pages for entering personal information like your name etc but for the most part the pages are blank (apart from a small page number).
The bright colours look great and I’m sure they’ll be easy to spot amongst the clutter in a bag or drawer. The notebooks are designed by Italian designer Denis Guidone – My FLUO Book.
Bellows Messenger Bag
The Bellows Messenger Bag is designed to carry 13.3″ laptops and tablets in two padded compartments. I’m really drawn to the design of this bag and was pleased to discover it was created by Benjamin Hubert, a designer (and studio) from the UK. The bag comes in a selection of four colours (Denim, Dark Grey, Light Grey & Rust) all with contrasting stitching. Although it’s made to fit 13.3″ laptops in I just about managed to fit my 15″ MacBook Pro in.
Inside the bag is well padded with bright orange material that contrasts really well with the blue denim. Alongside the two padded compartments is a zipped pocket.
The orange colour is also carried over to some feature stitching on the strap.
On the front of the bag there is another zipped pocket.
If you regularly carry around expensive laptops/tablets I think it’s worth investing in a bag that offers decent protection. Luckily with the Bellows Messenger bag NAVA have combined the safety of a well padded bag with great design. It’s also worth checking out the other bags in the Bellows range which include some great looking backpacks and iPad bags too.
No ordinary notes
The No ordinary notes range is a collection of 160 page ruled notepads in two sizes (a6 & a5) available in 6 colours (Blue, Black, Green, Violet, Red and Orange).
The range was designed in-house and boldly features the No ordinary notes name on the cover. Like the FLUO range the edges of the pages are coloured to match the cover. The covers themselves are covered in buckram cloth and also waterproof.
Superbag
NAVA’s Superbag range has been designed by Michel Charlot, a Swiss industrial designer. The bags have several great features, one of the being that they are seamless. The main part of the Superbag is made from one piece of material which is sealed on one edge.
The material is also 100% waterproof and the Backpack shown in the photographs is amazingly light and larger than you might expect.
All of the zips and other fasteners are high quality especially the magnetic front strap.
Inside there are padded compartments for a 15″ laptop and tablet. On the front is a large pocket.
By collaborating with leading designers NAVA creates functional products that look great. The bags I reviewed were NAVA’s mid-range offering at just over £100 each. They also sell bags that suit most budgets including cheaper options or more expensive bags if you’ve got money to spare.
Overall NAVA is a great brand selling high quality products, definitely worth checking out next time you need a new bag or a fresh notepad.
